A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by
adding thereto a new section, designated §30-14-12c, relating
to the Board of Osteopathy generally; providing for criminal
background checks on licensees; and providing for the
assessment of a fee for the background check.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
by adding thereto a new section, designated §30-14-12c, to read as
follows:
ARTICLE 14. OSTEOPATHIC PHYSICIANS AND SURGEONS.
§30-14-12c. Criminal background checks on licensees.
In addition to the duties set forth elsewhere in this article,
the board shall conduct criminal background checks through the
Federal Bureau of Investigation on all persons licensed under the provisions of this article and article fourteen-a of this chapter:
Provided, That the board may assess a fee as necessary to cover the
cost of the criminal background check.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require the board of
osteopathy to cause criminal background checks on licensees and to
provide for the assessment of a fee for the background check
.
